Who we are
Authentic Vision builds physical product authentication. Our core product is a holographic security label with an irreproducible fingerprint: anyone can verify a product with nothing but a smartphone camera — no special equipment, no training. Every scan produces data that helps brands fight counterfeiting at global scale, and unlocks more than authenticity — label-as-a-key, loyalty, and consumer engagement, all triggered by proof of physical possession.
We're ~15 people, with customers in automotive, nutraceuticals and industrial sectors across four continents. Engineering is small, senior, and ships regularly.
The role
You own the frontend layer across our product suite.
Customer portal — your main focus. The web app where customers manage labels and analyze scans (dashboards, data export). You own the UX and evolve the codebase.
TypeScript, Deno Fresh, Preact, gRPC, Go, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL
Web scan app — our consumer-facing scanner: everything our Android/iOS apps do, in the browser, with no install. UI animations, camera handling, WebAssembly.
TypeScript, esbuild, Preact
Branded customer experiences — themed deployments of the scan app and custom scan result pages. You own the pipeline that makes these fast and repeatable.
The scope is broad for a small team, and it keeps growing. You'll help shape what comes next, not just maintain what exists — including folding existing products into the frontend platform: adapting designs, unifying auth flows, and making the frontend extensible enough for others to build on.
How we work with AI
AI tools are already an integral part of how we work across engineering, sales, and operations, from coding and automation to research. We're looking for someone who already works this way and can help raise the bar for the entire team. If you don't yet have hands-on experience but are highly motivated to learn this new way of rapidly shipping high-quality code, we'd be happy to hear from you too.
What you need
- 4+ years of professional web development
- Strong TypeScript and React/Preact
- Comfort working in an existing codebase and improving it incrementally
- The ability to scope a feature, estimate it realistically, and speak up early when things change
- Willingness to learn
- Fluent English; German is a plus
Nice to have
- Go — so you can make backend changes yourself
- Elasticsearch at the query layer
- PostgreSQL — you won't own the database, but it helps when debugging end to end
- GitLab CI, Kubernetes, Linux/shell fluency
- Day-to-day experience with agentic coding — CLI coding agents and IDE-integrated assistants, with specs, project context and review conventions checked into the repo
- Willingness to share knowledge: as our frontend reference, you'll occasionally guide others on web technologies
Not required: a CS degree, or any background in authentication or security. We'll teach the domain.
What you get
- Full product ownership, concept to deployment
- A small, direct team — product, backend and ops are all reachable
- Flexible hours, goal-driven engineering culture, flexible remote arrangement
- Permanent employment under Austrian law with all associated benefits
- Subsidized lunch: €8 meal allowance for every day you work from the office
- €55,000–75,000 gross p.a. depending on experience (14 payments; well above the collective agreement minimum)
